I feel like this case is an oversight that could easily be remedied by any sort of molding, doorway, or differently colored texture around the entrance. The eye is naturally drawn to many important interactable elements. I spend most of these runs leaning in and squinting, hoping to spot a slightly darker rectangle. Every level you go down detracts one point. I have yet to notice a particular texture or signifier that the entrance is there, even when I find it. Steal: +2 points Vandalize: +5 points Kill: +infinity points At 0 points, youre forgiven. I don't think this is a color blindness issue. But because of the dark black and brown aesthetic of the Pyramid/Temple's backgrounds, the dark boxy entrance to this back stage piece is very difficult for my eyes to spot. His first dwelling has a very noticeable outline, as most entrances to back stages are. ![]() I get that you have to free him and slay Vlad the first time in order for it to spawn. This can be achieved by not committing crimes for enough levels. view image The player can be forgiven after angering the Shopkeeper's Association, and they will no longer be wanted afterward. However in the Pyramid/Temple level, I am having the hardest time seeing the entrance to Van Horsing's second dwelling. When the last torch is ignited within the time limit, the Clone Gun appears between the Forcefields that make up the challenge's waiting room. The Clone Gun is given as the reward for completing the Star Challenge in Tide Pool. It's a great additional mechanic to the Spelunky 1/2 formula. The Clone Gun is a Held Item in Spelunky 2. Each layer of brick is seven tiles thick. The lair is tiered, with three layers of solid brick with a pool of lava beneath. Olmecs Lair consists only of one level, 3-1. Here, the player battles the titular boss, can obtain the Ankh, and makes their way to either Tide Pool or Temple of Anubis. I dig how the "back stages" to levels operate. Olmecs Lair is the third area in Spelunky 2. ![]()
